Drippin

Drip

Drip, drip, drip…

A constant drizzle
Cascade down my golden crown
The paint — pretentious façade
Smear my ‘blank’ canvas with bronze
‘Blank’ — no one sees worth in it
Leaves a permanent stain
But I need to look like them
I need this paint
To be bronzed and glitter so
Not gold or silver
They’re out-of-trend
Bathe in bronze
Mask my golden glow
Daily, I sit under the tap
Doused in its influence.

Drip, drip, drip
Camouflage my every bit
To be the clique’s perfect fit.
